Helena has over nine years' experience in both the Australian Commonwealth public sector and State government, having worked for the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, Transport for NSW (Sydney Ferries), the Department of Defence, the Department of Finance, the Bureau of Meteorology, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and VicRoads Victoria.

Helena has experience in business case writing for Commonwealth and State governments, project management and administration, compliance, regulation research, procurement, writing and delivery of procurement training, procurement strategy and policy development.
